Auteur-compositeur-interprète de folk anglais, Nicholas Rodney Drake, est né à Rangoon, en Birmanie (Myanmar), le 19 juin 1948. Il est mort le 25 novembre 1974 à Tanworth-in-Arden, au sud de Birmingham, en Angleterre. Bien que salué par la critique, il n'a jamais obtenu l'attention du public de son vivant. Cependant Nick Drake est l'objet d'une reconnaissance posthume, ses trois albums, loin d'être tombés dans l'oubli, suscitent un intérêt croissant auprès des nouvelles générations.
